As above….trying to print a colour merge from Light Magenta to black but it doesnt seem to merge perfectly. The print has quite noticable banding.

Any ideas as to whats going on. Designed on Corel X3.

Try and add some Magenta into the Black.

I know we did that with a gradient on a box design we did that was a 2col litho job.

Seemed to smooth out the transition.

Rasterise the file and add some "Noise" (Gausssian Blur) to eliminate the banding caused by steps present in the vector drawn file.

By rasterizing you mean convert to bitmap?

Dave, from the photo the black looks purple mate. Is this just the way the photo has come out? What file type are you printing? I sometimes find that printing a rgb file instead of cmyk sorts this.

If I am not mistaken that looks like the wrong profile.
