Brilliant James 😀
Can you tell me how you go about creating a design like that, and what software have you used
-
That looks really smart James – I wish I could do more great looking jobs like that 😀
What software did you use to create it ?

Nice one! 😀 Smart work James, and agree with Eddie, almost makes me want to buy a VersaCamm 🙄 😉 😀
Can I be cheeky as always and ask what you designed this in? I really like the shading techniques, it brings the whole sign to life!

Thanks folks. I created the Graphics in Xara-X and Photoshop.
I use a pressure sensitive pen tablet in Photoshop to make life a lot easier. The design started off by pencil on paper drawing rough thumbnails.
I almost always design this way, it is much quicker than using a mouse or even a pen/tablet – try drawing a simple stickman by mouse compared to pencil on paper! When scribbling on paper, I don’t have to think of the process, just the design.
With a pencil, I can fill an A4 page with thumbnail designs in a few minutes. Computers are used for rendering designs to a cleaner and accurate finish.
I sketch in a hard backed A4 sketchbook, that way, over time, I have built up a large collection of designs which I can go back to for other jobs or templates. The sketchbooks are worth their weight in gold to me, especially on those Mondays when the brain refuses to kick in!

I am very impressed – seriously considering buying a versacamm!

Really cool work. Inspirational.
How are you getting on with the versacamm? -
Love the way you use the sketch books, really good idea. Unfortunately my drawing skills are like my good looks…. non-existant 😆 😆 I tend to buy large quantities of magazines from different industries and refer to them for inspiration. It costs a whole lot more this way though. 🙁
