Printable chrome
Morning all, I’ve got a customer who has seen someones van that has had a coloured chrome effect vinyl that has been printed on. We’ve got some of the silver chrome from metamark that we’ve used before but i can’t find any printable coloured chrome from our usual suppliers, anyone any suggestions to who does it? Having not seen it myself i guess it could be a printed clear onto of a coloured chrome??

Hi David, we have printed onto a few ‘non print’ vinyls inc… reflectives, metallics,chromes etc and had no problems yet. As long as you laminate them afterwards, should be fine.

….also, you can print onto clear then laminate with clear and apply to any vinyl.

Thanks Vic I’ll give it a go, always a bit nervous of printing on non printable’s incase the just beads up and ends up everywhere again. 😮

Metamark do a printable chrome ink doesn’t pool,prints very well and a lovely effect. Think it was about £15 per metre.

a latex printer will print direct to chrome cast.
also check that the chrome isnt a cheap polyester foil type chrome.

Yeah we’ve used the mirror chrome from metamark in the past but I think this is a coloured chrome.I think I’ll have to keep an eye out for the van and have a proper look at it, taking a customers word for it is never the best idea….lol
