Print pricing – hand trimming time
Hi, just wondered if your m2 print price includes finishing time (as in trimming up the images) or do you charge this seperately?
All smaller jobs i havnt been charging but ive been doing some larger jobs recently and realised that all this trimming out actually takes a fair amount of time which brings this question.

I would.
Work out the print cost (material+ink+machine time) + labour time (mounting/trimming/Finishing), don’t forget to include design time too. Add a little bit more on, because it never just takes 5mins. 😉

anything that has a significant time to it must be charged.
if you need to contour cut a print by hand, then yes, why not?
if you weren’t doing it by hand you would be digitising it for a contour cut path for your cutter to do it. again chargeable.
the only time i would wave it is if you can easily loss the fee in the overall cost of the job. but if someone wants a Metre square of print and contour cut, then i would charge for it.
