  • Print head lint free cleaning clothes – what are you using?

Posted by Unknown Member on 7 October 2014 at 19:59

    Guys,

Just wanted to touch base and see what types of lint free clothes people are using for wiping of print heads when needed.

We run a vast array of machines and our UV printers require a manual head wipe every 20 hours of use, this is generally every few days for us.

I want to know what people are using if anything to clean print heads.

HP have a lint free cloth that they sell as a cleaning kit but as you can imagine it carries a nice price tag, I’m sure there must be something else I can use.

    I can across this below

    CERNATA™ Critical Wipes Class 10 Cleanroom wipes 25x25cm (LCC25)

Stafford would like your input here please buddy?

    James
try the car paint shops i have used a box from them before they are big but you can cut them down, lint free wipes are now also used by Nail shops probably a better size and they are used for applying solvent so you know you won’t have any problems

    Just a quick search

We got our last lot from Digiprint. I don’t seem being shocked at the price

    Cheers

The specially designed ones for the HP come as a complete cleaning kit.

The kit has other bits that we don’t require…I guess this is a way of further making you spend money after initially raping you for over 100K…LOL 👿

Sorry James, I only just saw your post. I use a particular type of cleanroom wipe for our UV machines. I can’t remember what they’re called off hand but I can have a look next week and let you know. They’re not cheap though, but when it comes to cleaning Xaar 1002 printheads, I’d rather use the correct wipe than a cheap one!!

Bit late in the day probably, but we’ve started using these :

Seem to be doing the job nicely and doesn’t break the bank either.

Most of those are the wands used on the DX type heads for Mimaki and Roland.

Adrian, thanks for the link, they are similar to the wipers I buy. I might have to order a pack and see what they’re like, thanks.
