The job is temp vinyl on cars IE price and current offers etc on the side and bonnets etc.

can anyone help with best material and price guide.
don’t want to do it cheap but don’t want to lose it if you know what i mean.

regardless to what, car dealers want that stuff cheap! you cant win…
temp vinyl is fine cost wise, but has many disadvatages.
car dealers seem to want huge text, tacky flourescent orange colours and the like. its short term vinyl but not cheap. dont price on the promise of lots of work, the more they give the less they are wanting to pay.

personally, unless business is slow, bodyswerve it 😀

Price it just as you would any other job. Just because it’s temporary doesn’t make it any cheaper or quicker for you to do and apply.

If you find you’re given lot’s of work – then start offering discounted prices.

A few people have tried to specialise in this area and offer silly prices only to find they can’t run a viable business that way. Car salesmen are tough negotiators, but many also possess business acumen and recognise that you have to charge a fair rate to mantain a viable business.

I do this kind of work for a few garages and I get reasonably well paid for it. It’s also good repeat business.

Just make sure you don’t go giving it away in the first instance

Price down one side and on the bonnet – about £60-70

Whack on 4-5 cars in an hour (it’s not like you have to measure anything or worry to much about neat fitting)

    Easy money.

this type of work, we have been doing for many years now.
We use either mactac 8900 series vinyl or mactac fluorescent.

With regards to cost we charge about £70-90 for a side and a bonnet in 8900 series, and about £140 for both sides & bonnet in fluorescent

Of course prices depend on how many cars there are to do

    Hope this helps.
