    Hi All,

140metres of signle colour vinyl to apply to lower section of glass on iside of building. Strip is 1m high and at above floor level.

Not done this width before so some suggestions on fitting and help me price-up would be appreciated.

    I assume the following:

Get rolls of vinyl pre-cut to 1m
    Will apply wet
Will need at least two people
    Will get a bad back

    CHeers

How wide is each panel? If they are all the same might be easier to have them cut down before you goto the job site.

Use two guys or send Cheryl on her own. Peel back one panel spray it down spray down the glass and float it on.

Then go do the next panel work quickly.

Then each person squeegees down one panel.

    Repeat.

Its in a Green and is permanent. I am only pricing for it at this stage and needed the advice as it isn’t really my kind of thing.

    oh *blush*
nice job if you charge the right money…no fiddling about with weeding ..just buy the roll and go…JDI and dont let the size of it worry you…there is always Paracetamol or Aspirin for aches and pains. It is good if you have another set of hands to help…and dont be afraid to use plenty of water on large bits of vinyl if you make sure the windows are cleaned properly.

I did a job with Richard Urquart in Eastbourne like this, we had to flood about 10 windows as big as 2.5m x 22m+ if i recall right, it was a proper team effort,

easiest way we did in the end was for both of us to razor scrape one window, then I moved onto the next while Rich cut the material a bit oversize, we then soaked the top half in rapid tac (very expensive!) as well as the material, then floated it on, both got to work on the squeegees until stuck in place, i’d then move onto the next windows while Rich finished off, then we’d do the lower half, took a whole day for two of us to do that.

we also used felt (blue avery) squeegies to get it on, we also used white nylon squeegies to get it right town but i think it might leave visible marks on green, we did black and the intended interior purpose was rather dark, only the stage lit!!!

Cheers all. All very helpful. Any problem using wet application with "fairy" liquid?

use johnsons baby shampoo if you want to use soap, it has no chemicals and you don’t cry when you get it in your eyes!

As for the unger squeegee you have to clean the windows anyway so worth getting one

    Hi,

Since its low your more than likely be needing knee pads, i now it sounds odd but i had to learn it the hard way. After 20 mins of kneeling you begin to feel your knees crunching.. 😀

So if your doing a 2m wide section, could you center hinge and apply dry on glass?
