I was asked this question recently and realised I didn’t know the answer.

The question is how to look after a vehicle wrap. Can the wrap be polished in the usual way that you would clean and polish any finish on a vehicle? I’m guessing that you wouldn’t want to if the wrap was a matt finish, but what about a colour change wrap where the finish was glossy. What is the general advice here?

I usually advise polishing vinyl with a spray / liquid type as it requires the least ‘buffing up’.

Obviously avoiding anything ‘T-cut’ or abrasive.

Normal waxes work well and reach a real bright shine, but the buffing should be done by hand rather than a high speed buffer – or only with care, as if the vinyl heats it can bugger the gloss and go all that scuffed / textured way.
