This may sound like a daft question and I apologise if it is but are your pinch rollers in line with the shiny stickers located behind. If the aren’t you will get a pinch roll error.

    Cheers

    Hi Gary
thanks for your reply, pinch rollers are in position OK, I think it might have to do something with the sensor but I am not sure, I am waiting for a reply from B&P but I appreciate if someone encountered the same problem on the forum will have a solution for me.
    thanks

    Gino,

I had exactly the same problem with a SP300 a few months ago. When you load the material. after the head scanned from right to left, it would return faster than normal to the capping station, and give the "invalid pinchroller position" prompt, even though it obviously was positioned correctly. Funny thing is, if I did the setup over and over, it would sometimes work.

This lead me to believe the ribbon cable to the cutting head was at fault. As it turned out, I was right. A few Bob for the new ribbon cable, and you’ll be going again. ( The agents wanted to replace the entire tool carriage, something I told them is not necessary.)

Try looking if the ribbon cable is properly inserted both ends, and while you are in there, see if the cable to the little optical sensor in the tool ciarrage is secure in place. Also check if the optical sensor (located inside the cutting ciarrage) is clean. This sensor "reads" the metal flanges on the pinchrollers, so if its dirty it may not function well. If you covered these basis, and it still acts up, replace the ribbon cable. ( I also found that by running my finger along the cable it would sometimes make contact again, allowing you to at least get something done while you wait for the teckie to arrive)

Let us know if if you get it sorted, and what the service guys did to fix it. ( Also watch them do it. You pick up a lot of pointers to service the machine yourself…)

    Hope this helps.
