  • Perforated Vinyl with Print for Bus Windows.

    Hi guys,

Here is something new to me, I have been asked to apply and remove graphics to three Coaches (apply onto the windows only and remove again three days later etc), the catch is that they need to be see-through and also printed graphics. (Van-Hool Coach Body)

I am a vinyl only man, and usually outsource out my printing when needed, from a local company in Torquay but my printer cannot print onto perforated vinyl.

Are there an recommendations for the type of material to keep my costs down as it’s only temporary and is perforated definately the way to do it, if so who supplies it and who could print it also?

Please help, any advice would be greatly appreciated, I am stuck on this one.

    Kind Regards

    Jason

jason, you can do see through by cutting strips out of the image once printed, Rob did a demo I seem to remember, but also look at cadlinks web site, they have a demo on there which show it better than I can explain.
    but a bit like this

on the other hand, i dont see why your printing source cant print onto the vinyl? its just the same way you would print onto a regular vinyl, but its perforated.

    Thanks for the help guys,

Apparently he is having major problems with his profiles? As I will need this printing by the end of the month, he is waiting for a technician, so he won’t be able to do it in time.

I did think of the lines as in that tutorial, and I have done that many times thanks to that demo but only on smaller vehicles, these coach windows are about 900mm high by about 6m, and as I can only cut 560mm this leaves me with a problemo, but is possible, but would increase the installation time immensely due to registration, not to mention the time taking it off, as it has to be removed within a few hours.

Could anyone recommend a good printer that could print onto the perforated for me?
