• PC600 Problem

Hey everyone….I’m sure you’re all sick of hearing about PC600 problems, but here is mine anyway. We had a head go out on our machine back in October…we sent it off to get fixed since they wouldn’t just send us the printhead so I could do it myself. So far we’ve had it back 3 different times…and every time, it has been damaged in shipping, broken case, etc. Every time, we’ve tried printing anyway, just to see if it was cosmetic damage, and every time, we get the same result. Every time the machine tries to pick up a cartridge, it misses. It is off by about 1/4 of an inch. This time there is absolutely no visible damage to the machine itself, but it still won’t pick up a cartridge. It tries 3 times then starts beeping, same thing every time. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this problem and figured out a way to fix it. I’m really getting upset with this stupid printer and the shipping and the repair facility. I’m just hoping there is a way to fix it ourselves without sending it back again.

    thanks,
    josh

Its a cartridge alignment problem and can be easily solved but you will need a manual. I had the same problem on my PC60 and had to call out an engineer but if you look at some of the old posts on this site you might find some help. It is just a matter of knowing which buttons to press on power up to get it into the alignment mode.

    Good luck

    one more thing,
if you go to backside of the printer you can see the long wire which drive whole print-head unit
so, one little screw hold the wire in start position, a maybe problem is in this position, cause sometimes wire can go a little on left or right
if screw is not in good position, print-head stay on wrong position when you finish with printing or if you have problem /in your case cant take the cartridge, then start beeping and go back in left position/
if the head not correctly positioning in start position all guilt is ion screw
to solve that try to pull wire on left or right and fix the screw better / if screw is damaged find new one/
carefully, first, you must check this very well and be sure if it is the problem
