  • Painting on aluminium/steel – help required, please?

    Hello
I’m getting a fabricated letter made, but it is going to be different colours so it needs to be painted by hand. There is a video on youtube of neon artist todd sanders who paints the kings of leon sign, he uses 1 shot but he paints on to an already painted surface. Can anyone help me to figure out what metal he uses and how he paints on it? Does he have the metal powder coated then uses 1 shot on top? All help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Ashley

I would guess the letters have been rubbed down and primed/etched with a base coat. then painted on top.
One Shot is a hand painted finished as in brush strokes. however you can spray, powder coat or air-brush also.

A 2 part self etching primer such as Grip Gaurd would be my guess on aluminium. Then brushed or sprayed with 1 Shot. You can even get a hardener for 1 Shot. I would also add a shot of smoothie fish eye preventer to the one shot. You can get that stuff to shine like glass with a little experimenting.
