This is a mural I painted for my baby when my wife was pregnant. We didn’t know if we were having a boy or a girl so I painted unisex images like Disneys Winnie the Pooh, Teletubbies and Fimbles. We had a daughter who you can see in the photo but the problem is that we’ve just bought a new house and moved and since I rented that particular property I had to paint it out, I felt gutted, lol it was like painting my Mona Lisa out because I don’t know if you can tell from the picture but I painted it so it felt like the characters were coming towards you and hence forth it felt like you could step into the wall!

This isn’t what I do for a living, it is purely a talent I rarely used and just wanted to do something special for my baby (though she’ll never remember it). I’m going to paint a new mural in my new house, the them will be Disneys Princesses and I’ll have Snow White coming out of the Disney castle with the Seven Dwarfs going to visit Sleeping Beauty being kissed by a Prince and crowded by her three fairy Godmothers and Cinderella riding by in the Mice chauffered pumpkin as Aladdin and Jasmine wave from above on their flying carpet.

This is something I’d like to do for a living but I don’t think you would get eough work to substain a good turnover and that is why my partner and I have stuck to digital art supply instead.

Like to hear what you think

    Best regards

    Scott

Nice job Scott, bit strange seeing Tellitubbies with Winnie the Poo (New with the old). I hope your daughter gets to remember the new painting, sound like it will be amazing, show us the finished job when done.

    Cheers

    Cheers Dave

I actually wanted all Disney characters because they won’t date like regional children television favs but my wife was adament she wanted the Fimbles and Teletubbies even though I pointed out from a design view it was out of snyc.

    Best regards

I did that once in a child’s nursery here.
They wanted Sesame Street charcters along with stuff from a children’s book series.
It was kinda neat in the end.
Painted one for my own kids in a house we sold.
I was saddened to hear that the new buyer immediatley painted it white.
Still hope it bleeds thru every paint kob he does!
    It looks good to me.
I’m sure your little girl will like it till she’s about 5.
Then you’ll have to paint Britney, Jessica, or whatever girl pop stars are popular!
Kids grow out of things so quickly.
I have to re-do my 10 year old’s John Deere room soon.
    Love….Jill

    Hi Jill

I had to paint that wall out just this weekend gone because I rented that house and the landlord told me to get rid of it even though the new tenant wanted to keep it. It took numerous amounts of coats and spots of the black outline kept coming through, something to do with the fact it was water based. So yeah, I painted it for my daughter but she’ll never remember it. The picture Ive put on here was taken when I was half way through it, you can see only the winnie the pooh characters are finished with outlines and shading.

    Thanks for the reply

Thanks, its one of those jobs you start off with a load of enthusiasm then half way through you feel like you are never gonna finish the damn thing and hate the site of it but once its done you stand back and feel really good about it. I did something similar for my brothers transit party van they took to Newquay for run to the sun. I painted each brother in cool shades of blues and purples so the images matched the vans dark blue coat. The designs did look great but it was only meant as a temp job for the weekend event but a year later its still on but as I said it is starting to look shabby cos I painted it with gloss paints for a quick turn around, if I was doing something more permanent I woulda sprayed it.
