I currently have a Mimaki JV2-130 and I do custom sublimated apparel so I need to print upto 40" wide.

I just wanted to know what other printers would be a good and reliable option as JV2’s are very hard to find since they are so old.

Also, I’m not very clear as to why some printers can be used for sublimation and some cannot (ie – Mimaki JV3 cannot but JV4 can?). Is there a difference in the print head and how the inks would affect it???

Anyways, any suggestions would be nice!

    Thanks

    Ed

Have you contacted Sawgrass and asked them for input on this? They can no doubt let you know of several options. Anyhoo, depending on your speed requirements, maybe an Epson 96/9800 might do the trick.

Could be clogging issues with the Epson… I don’t really know. But isn’t Mimaki using Epson heads in their printing line up?

    I’m in Amherst, NS…
