  • Onyx – Maximum print length

Posted by Chris Dowd on 8 March 2007 at 23:44

    Hi

Tried printing a 19.4 mtr banner today and Onyx keep booting the file out as too big. When I reduced the size down slightly it ripped okay.

Is this something I can change in the settings, or if not, does anyone know what the maximum printable length is?

    Thanks,

    Chris.

    Chris,

What version are you running and what are your computer specs. I used to have this problem with 6.5 but when we upgraded computers and switched to Production House we never got this error again even after printing entire banner rolls and trailer wraps. Some of these files are in excess of 2-3gigs.

    Hi George,

Thanks for your reply. It’s not the file size, it’s the actual print size (1550mm x 19400mm). Every time I tries to rip this is said that it was too big!

Reduced the size slightly and it ripped (to get around it I have split the artwork into two pieces and set it to print with no gap between copies (still got a tiny line where they joined)) The Media is set to 50 metres (25 metre roll, so it shouldn’t be that).

    It’s Postershop 6.5 driving a Seiko 64S.
