  • One way vision film – am I right?

    Hi all,

I’ve just printed and mounted a one way vision film for a friends (it’s always for a friend!) boat acrylic door.

It’s supposed to be difficult to see one way, for privacy – this one seems pretty transparent – anyone have any experience or ideas?

I think I might have to put mirror film on the inside which sort of defeats the object.

    Thanks

    Billy

One way vision film works best when it is darker on the inside than on the outside.
It’s function is to confuse the vision, so your eyes see the surface but not the darkness behind.
It does not magically block the light from passing in one direction.
Also, the darker the print, the easier it is to see through.

    Ah thanks Simon,

    That explains it.

I think I’ll have to lay some glass etch film inside then to make it ‘private’.

Thank you for your quick response.

    🙂

You can also get larger and smaller holes in the film… this looks particularly thin.

Although the above pics are pretty pointless…. customer was adamant this is what they wanted, however after fitting soon realised what we were trying to say.
