  • One Way Vinyl for Vehicle – help needed for back windows.

Posted by Steve Pearce on 20 July 2014 at 15:51

Hi, Does anyone know of a printable (ECO SOLMAX inks) one way vision vinyl, that we can print an advertising graphic for one of our clients back windows?

It needs to be on the inside of the window, so the windscreen wiper doesn’t affect it, so cling or slightly adhesive material.

Her logo is one large square of solid colour that will need to be 30cm square, hence the need for her to be able to see through it when reversing her vehicle.

    Thanks

Steve I have never heard of one way vision vinyl to go on the iINSIDE of the window.
I think you will have to make your own by doing a standard reverse print with white backup and cutting it into strips on the plotter, and weeding every alternate strip.
    Simon.

Thanks Simon,I thought about maybe creating a screen of the image and hoping that the very fine dots may allow our client to see through the image.
I’ve heard lots of industry chatter about there may be a one way vision cling, that you can put on the inside, guess it’s not quite ready.

    Hi Steve

Did you follow up with William Smith?

Had never heard of this interior oneway so having seen the above had a look and found it at: http://www.williamsmith.co.uk/index.cfm … TypeID=211

branded ‘Contravision Sprint’ and if I understand correctly you print onto adhesive – but this still means ink is face to glass (even though may be adhesive barrier)- so ink from solvent printer migration possible? would be interested to know folks thoughts as can see some useful applications.

    Cheers, Hugh.

I printed on contravision on a solvent seiko v64. The sticky adhesive side is printed on first no issues . Obviously no need for laminating installed onto a for ranger back window more than a year ago and no issues, with installing or peeling over time.
