One or two missing contributors
Posted by Steve Morgan on 9 December 2011 at 10:27Hope I’m not touching a nerve here, but as I didn’t follow the boards for several months, I notice that there don’t seem to be any contributions from Peter Normington or Marcella and I’m sure one or two other prominant contributors. Anyone know why?

People come and go Steve, don’t know for sure about anyone but someone did tell me that Marcella had stopped the sign business and was working in a shop. Don’t know if that’s true but it came from another signmaker who knows her.

Thanks Martin, just curious. I sometimes feel I know people who are on here, almost as friends.

hi Steve
Missing contributors? there are loads mate… could probably count ten of the top of my head. :lol1:
This is basically the nature of a web forum. posts and activity come in waves through out the year. that said, i see them login all the time, so not gone, just either busy or taking time out.Marcella still pops on now and again and keeps in contact with me. Like allot of us near this time of year i am sure she is busy.
As for Peter… different case entirely
Peter "decided himself" he would no longer contribute to UKSB after I personally had to "continually" ask him to refrain from the type of posts he was making on uksignboards.com.
not only was i personally asking him, our moderators, our long standing UKSG members, general site traffic and even some suppliers had made complaints about his conduct and general approach to contributors and new comers to the site. You raise the subject of missing contributors Steve. i speak with sign makers over the phone, by email etc sometimes in person. some have been absent from the site and i have asked why? their reply is that they are fedup with good topics going off-topic as a result of peter jumping on every ones threads and generally ruining the atmosphere. These were long standing members of the UKSG & UKSB. This could not go on…
Peter has always been opinionated, theres nothing wrong in that, but there was a sharp increase in what went from opinions to down right rude and often inaccurate information being posted. I have my own beleifs of WHY this all came about, but i have no desire to elaborate on that… for now…
In a nutshell, he decided himself to stop contributing. since doing so, various members have began posting again, so to be honest, he has done me and the site a favour. We may loss one, but have many return as a result.
hope this helps explain things….
