Hi all …. just upgraded to Omega 2.5 and am having a problem.

I would like to fill an object with a gradient. I used to be able to do this
on version 2.0, but it’s not giving me the option. Someone has mentioned
to me that I need to install some profiles or something ?? ……

Right click on the object. Scroll down to Fill, select Fill Type and away you go.

I can see it in the menu, but it’s just appearing dark grey and it wont work.

Are you sure this is the print & cut version and not just cut only
    Mart.

That’s exactly what just crossed my mind. πŸ™
We recently bought out another sign company and this upgrade was
on one of their PC’s ….. i reckon they might have only bought the cut one.

    Adrian,

Just read this for the first time and had the same thought as Martin once I viewed your screen grab. πŸ™ If you are willing to post the contents from the Options part of the System ID, this can be confirmed.

Do a right click on the GSP Tray and select System Identification String. From the resulting Gerber System ID dialog box, do a sweep selection of all content listed in the Options area. Copy the highlighted content and then paste in a reply to this thread. I’ll put a note to look back here Monday morning and will be able to tell you what the current package is and if any options or add-ons are enabled.

    Adrian,

No problem mate, hope you had an enjoyable day. I can confirm what you probably already now know; your package is not Omega CP (Cut & Print) and therefore it will not support or allow the use of color tools and functions (of which the Gradient is part of). Not sure if you are use to using, or have used the Font Designer utility, but that should also be missing since it appears you purchased/upgraded to what is now called Omega CS. Unique to see the International Version entry as we normally don’t see that on this side of the big pond. πŸ˜‰

Fred’s entries do reflect what is normally present in an Omega CP package, however, not positive as the security key/dongle was not present or active at time of data capture.
