    Hi All

I have a customer who need a swing sign that looks like it’s many years old, a black wrought iron sign but needs lettering and picture as part of it so think it will need to be a blacksmith type job 😕 or how do I create an old finish using traditional materials?

anybody have any suggestions or recommendations for this type of thing?

    cheers

    Warren

I can get these made up Warren.

Its from a local guy who’s company had massive orders from Caterpillar and is turning his tools and skills into gates and the like.

He gave me this one as a sample to show folk but I haven’t managed to get him any orders yet.

    Thanks guys

It’s not really the bracket I have a problem with but the bespoke swing panel. The main thing I asked though was they want it to look old, not old style just old as though it has been hanging up there for many many years, you know liked slightly rusted, peeling paint etc… they don’t want it to look new 😕

    scrap yard 🙄 :lol1:

    cheers guys

Get a sign blank, and paint it with a couple of close colours, e.g. top layer cream with a light brown undercoat. Apply the necessary vinyl then scuff up with wire wool………have fun :lol1:
