  • Numberplate Font ?

Posted by Adrian Neill on 17 August 2004 at 10:38

    Hi guys.

My first post so please be gentle 🙄 !!

We are being asked more and more for numberplates, especially the ‘stick-on’ type. Does anyone know what the legal numberplate font is called.

Thanks in advance for any help

The font is called ‘Charles Wright’.
Just curious but why was your post edited by admin ?

I did originally ask where I could obtain it from. Sorry if I was mis-understood, but I did mean we wanted to buy it and was wondering whether there were any recommendations of where to buy such font !

Wasn’t expecting any dodgy fonts. – Sorry admin. 😳

not a problem at all mate.. no worries.. i was going to move your post to file swapping forum. but then you wouldnt get to see what the font was called because you dont have access membership. so i edited out the request for a copy of the font..
    no harm done 😉

There is a free version of the number plate font, but its in the file swapping forum 😕 I would’ve posted the link here, but as Robert has said, without the access, it wouldn’t be much use 🙁

Hi Dewi. I have taken Dex’s advice and registered. Only the file swapping bit at the moment and i’ll see how it goes from there.

Any chance of posting the link to that thread for when i’m allowed in.

Thanks for everyones help !! 😀

Ady, don’t know if you are aware of the legislation covering the manufacture of number plates or not.

If you are not then check the DVLAs site for details.

If you are then tell me to wind my neck in & mind my own business
