Number plate printing – Oki C551 help, please?

standard oki printers will do it, the adjusted firmware prints a denser black and temp is upped due to printing on the polyester etc. Im talking about the oki 5650 printers so cannot be 100% on the newer printers

hi thank you for replying and some info, so would it be muck of a darker print with the moded firmware? the printer i meant was c511 not c551

Can’t help with print but guessing they do it for a reason, most of their sales will be in consumable items, doubt they make a lot on printer sales.
Other thing you might want to consider is if you buy from someone like Tennants you get the complete system ready to go which will also come with some sort of help/support. Buy off the shelf & if the printer is suitable your on your own with no help if things aren’t going right, plus you will also need software to both generate the plates & record all the legal stuff you need to keep, have you thought about what software would be suitable?

hi i was thinking of buying lgsigns software but the sign version so not just stuck with basic plates, it will also record the details of customers. i also intend to keep a paper copy of all the details
is there any recomended software ?

I hope you can help.

I’m thinking of setting up a number plate printing/supply business. This will be something I will do along the side line of my full time job.

I wondering what decent equipment will I require to fulfil orders? – So far I managed to purchase a used roller for £70 posted. However, I’m after a printer and a decent software, I have up to £500 to spend. I will also require the the films etc.

You help would be much appreciated.
