Does anyone have the official DVLA number plate font?

    It is named ‘Charles Wright’.

We’ve just registered as a number plate supplier with the DVLA and don’t fancy buying all the transfers, much prefer to print them.

It’s not a font, but there’s only seven characters, it worked for me.

    BTW thanks Nigel.

Hey Craig (Elite), that font has got loads of excess nodes mate (look a bit of a s*d to cut quick on a plotter), thanks for posting it though, I wish I knew how to convert my eps file into a ttf – does anyone know how to do this ???

sorry about the nodes never actually used the font myself so i wasn’t sure of the quality.

We use Adobe fontographer to create ttf

Very cleanly drawn Paul, thanks for posting.

Nigel, Font Creator is free to try, and only $50 to register (about a tenth of the price of FontLab or Fontographer)

It looks quite daunting to start with (I suppose most new software does really) but it does work.
