I’ve just had a telephone call from a very angry motorist complaining about the driver of one of our vans.

I explained we only have one van (and it is parked outside).

It turns out the vehicle in question was an old white J reg. transit. I recall a couple of years ago being asked to do a Scottish Saltire flag on the bonnet of a Transit – nothing else just the flag on the bonnet. The customer was happy to pay me the quoted price and suggested I put my own company logo and telephone number on the back as a “free advert” for my business – This I did.

This is actually the second time I have had a complaint about this particular vehicle (the last time was an irate message left on my answering machine) so the fellow is obviously a complete nutter when it comes to driving.

I don’t even know his name or know of any way to contact him as I would certainly like to remove my business name from his van.

I just wonder how many other motorists he’s upset who haven’t bothered to complain, yet also think he is connected to my business in some way.

This is not a good advert for me.

I just thought I’d relay my experience so that others don’t get caught out in the same way.

    The same happened to us.

Put the company name etc on the rear of the family run about. It then got passed to another member of the family, who were quite happy to keep it on, then they sold it and didn`t remove the graphic, The new owner said he`ll do it, but never did. 12 months later got a similar phone call, about our driving…

With a bit of luck, it now gone to that great scrap yard in the sky…

Not a problem if you stick your ad-sign on a stationery sign

Unless theres a hurricane and it hurtles the sign down the road at 100mph weaving in and out of the motorists and fails to stop at a red light 😆

Had a company car with radio station graphics all over it. I’ll go as far as to say it was a 50/50 decision as to who was wrong and who was right, which given my generous nature means I was in the right 😀

Boss took a phonecall from irate ‘Richard Head Ponsonby-Smythe’ some local dignitary but unfortunately before I could tell him where to stick his shooting stick the boss detected the tone of my voice and cut me off!

    I was supposed to be calling to apologise 👿 👿 👿 👿

Sorry to hear that Phill. It’s a bit of an eye opener. Just goes to show that free advertising is not always free, the price can be reputation. Is there no way of tracking down the culprit?

    Cheers, Dewi
