Hi, about 8 years ago I bought a very nice meter rule. It had a nonslip grip on the bottom and was just about the one perfect tool that was used everyday. (taken for granted)

One of my slaves lost it last week and I just cant seem to find a replacement on the net.

does anybody have any ideas where I could get one from on the web

    Tom

Cooksons in Stockport do one with rubber underneath to prevent slipping and a handle in the centre to stop you trimming your nails 🙂 Unfortunately their website is down at he moment but they can be contacted on 0161 480 2388.

JTF Warehouses also do one the same but with no rubber underneath but they only cost £2.95 + V.A.T. Don’t know if you have one in your area (?)

Yellow 5 Safety Rule in 0.5m 1.0m and 1.5m lengths.

And how come you manage to get away with only owning the one????
We’ve got about six of varying lengths floating around, and I can still struggle to find one when needed. 🙁

ha ha – only having ,makes them more precious and looked after, 8 years with one and we still used it every day, until somebody took it out the office –

where can I get those from?

No rulers, safety or otherwise here.

I lost a couple of stainless steel ones over the years (left them at jobs…along with numerous scalpels…screwdrivers etc.) Now it’s just a couple of lengths of alloy sheet about 2" wide. A short 2′, and a long 6′. Serves me really well.

I did invest in a proper safety rule years ago (after cutting the tops off two fingers – thank to the NHS for sticking them back on) – but it was too fiddly, and a pain to work with….hmmm, I’m about due for another ‘incident’.

Dave (now slightly worried 😕 ).

This is where I got my non-slip safety ruler, and my regular straight edges as well. They are local to me, but I am pretty sure they ship international.

Actually, on second thought, I think they are all in Inches. Not very good for anywhere else in the world. 😕

That’s the one I have, it’s heavy too, which helps even more to keep it in place.

We make our own safety cutting rules…. They are not non-slip but to be honest they don’t anyway. (If that makes sense)
Rules can be expensive for a good one… our staff just don’t grasp this and they are chucked about as if they had no value.
See here for the rules I use/make:

    cutting foamex by hand:

The one from jag looks a good option; another which you probably have already looked at is here.

I got mine from Hexis, yellow safety ruler, they are very good, i got the metre and a half size, and the half metre size,
they come in very handy for cutting all board and vinyl.
