Hi all I have recently purchased a pcut 630 and have been making small Decals for myself

A friend gave me some white vinyl as I had run out the other day And I noticed that where the cutter enters the vinyl to start the letters is leave a flaw, almost like a pinprick or a small tear , would this be down toe the vinyl or me not havingthe pressure or something else incorrect? I don’t remember seeing it on the other white that I had ran out of

you need to run test cuts for pressure each time you load different vinyl brands. if you don’t know how to do this then cut a very small X till it cuts perfectly. trial and error exercise, this one.

your blade maybe blunt too… but you should get months out of any decent blade based on your volume. that’s not to say its not snagged or tip damaged.

if it only started when you changed the vinyl, do test cuts and vary pressure.
    rule that out first.

can the quality if the blade cause it to lift the vinyl on corners? that seems to be the problem i am having, i have tried different press ammounts untill the point it dosent cut the vinyl , changed the ammount the blade comes out of the holder, and the speed, and changed from the etched stuff to normal vinyl and the problem still seems to happen,

i am going to be cutting 510 x 710 with 10 x 10 squares spades 25mm apart form etched vinyl,

any help would be greatly recived

Try putting a small internal radius on the corners of the squares

If you read through some of the threads on chinese plotters you will see that they can take quite a lot of setting up to get them to cut correctly. The blade holder should only have enough of the blade showing to cut through the vinyl but not the backing paper, force or cutting pressure is trial and error and as Robert has already said will be different for different types of vinyl. Blade off set is also something you need to have set correctly, what software are you using as the setting of these things can vary a lot depending on what software you use. One last thing to make sure of is that the fonts you are cutting are suitable, some fonts have very bad edges which can make them look bad when cut on a plotter.

i am currently using the uscutter version of signblazer as its free, until i can get some money to purchase some newer software, i think i have got it working well, and have noticed the cutting strip is in bad condition, so will be ordering a new one with some new blades shortly

If the cutting strip is not resonable smooth then it could cause parts of the vinyl to be lifted during cutting.

Other then that the only other time I experienced such an error was due to bad vectors or a damaged blade tip which can occured if your blade has repeatedly been cutting too deep or hitting the cutting strip.
