newbe question about car wraping!
Posted by snuffe on 25 October 2003 at 05:14Hello everyone!
My name is Roland and I´m new to this bord (and in sign making). Now I have a question about how to do with my car.

I wonder if I should do the black “flamish” thing in one big wrap or if it better to split it up like a pussle.Sorry for my english.

Hello Roland, welcome to the UK signboards 😀 .
I tried looking at your link but either the site is down, or there is an error in the typscript as the link goes nowhere.
Which one are you by the way, the guy with the hat on, the guy with his back to us, or the fella with the long face 😉

Personally, I would cut it as a standard vinyl cut and apply.
Looks quite smart, a neighbour of mine has a similar thing on his car but the image is an airbrushed dragon.

Hi mate
If it was me. I would apply as one whole image.
I would start on the front door in the middle, between the door handle and rubber moulding.
It would be easier done if you actually cut away most of the excess paper and tape around the image. It will make life easier when it comes to the mouldings etc.
Move from the middle towards the back then middle to front.
When you get to the end of the door to the left. Slit the backing tape between the black stripes and lay don one at a time. This will help when you are applying around the indicator light. It will also help when you do the bottom strip. If you don’t slit it the paper will pucker up due to the plastic moulding.
The part right at the front could be applied as a separate bit and also the text..
I would advise cutting the vinyl away when you cross the black rubber moulding.
As it will start to come away over time. If you really want to keep it. I would suggest you slit the vinyl were the motor joins to it and give it a real good heat with a heat gun.Nice distinctive design by he way..
😉
