As most of you know, our beloved pug Weezer was killed last month.
We simply could not go on without another pug.
This is Sukey, who is 10 weeks old.
I threw in a pic of our kitten, Dottie, who mourned the loss of Weezer almost as much as we did. She is gradually befriending Sukey.
While Weezer can never be replaced, it is good to have a little bundle of energy to cuddle again.
    Love….Jill

    She’s an absolute smasher, Jill.

I’ve been thinking of another dog lately, but I don’t think I can go through the heartbreak again. 😕

Here is my new apprentice, Still teaching her that you dont pull the vinyl out of the cutter with your teeth when it is still cutting. I dont know kids of today (crikey I sound like my dad) Her name is Jessie and she is a staffordshire bull terrier. A great mate in the shed with me and a great adition to the family.

    Love the pup Jill.

Look at those paws! Will Jessie be a bigger dog?
And the little kitty is so cute.
My kitten tries to attack me when I’m weeding vinyl.

awww so kewt….I want to get a Pug for my very good friend who needs a very good friend and this is the perfect breed for her…for one of these from a reputable breeder over here you are looking at £1000 a pup…groan.

    Cheryl, really research pugs.
For example, one in a pet shop (probably from a puppy mill) is about $1K.
We got Sukey from a very nice lady in the next county over, she was $400, with shots and papers. We got to meet her mom and littermates.
I found her advertised in the local free newspaper.
I thought it was a good deal, considering that Weezer cost $375 in 1998.
Pugs are by their very nature loyal and loving, a true lap dog…but VERY hard to housebreak! Seems like the black ones shed less than the fawns, too.

    Thankyou Jill,
I have been looking at reputable breeders, which is why they seem to cost so much, an reading up on puppy farms, I am certainly going to be really aware about where pups come from. Id really like to find a suitable rescue dog.

Jilly lovely pup xxx Cheryl if you get in touch with the Kennel club they will give you details of pug rescue centres, our beautiful departed (but never forgotten) Rosie was a Dane rescue poor girl was only 5 weeks old when we got her, but because it was a breed rescue she was a pure bred, but with out papers, but as we didn’t want to show or breed from her that was ok.

My first encounter with a pug was when I was 13ish.
a friend of mine had one, or at least his family did.
We took the little chap out for a walk on the beach, the dog went for a run, and came back with one eye popped out of its socket!
God did we panic… we even tried to push it back in…
anyway we were scared that we would be blamed, we weren’t though.
vet removed the eye, and stitched up the gap.
and the dog was renamed Nelson.
I have since learned that it is quite common for them to pop an eye…

    Sorry Jill, memories rekindled

    😮
It is common for pugs to pop an eye when they get older. I saw that on some TV show on Animal Planet.
I forgot about the rescue option, they do have pug rescue groups here.

good argument for exchanging the kids for a dog!! My son is 13 and doesn’t do any of those things, although he does fetch the paper …..

Looks like a lovely dog mate….

    Haha, thanks Shane,

Small house – small dog. The only way we were ever going to get a dog was to keep it small.

My boy suddenly looks like a giant!

    Cheers,

Bloody hell Jill – that’s one ugly Dog. Best to get a paper bag to stick over her head while she’s on heat… otherwise all the strays in the neighbourhood will be taking a wide berth 😕

    Jus teasing 😉
