whats wrong with the Seal it may be better repairing that than replacing it with a cheaper alternativeKev

hi kev
when you close up the rollers to laminate ,they are not closing all the way across
you can still see light through the nip point.I have already adjusted the rollers but
still has not sorted the problemWould drytac or easymount be a cheaper option,I thought that they would be as good
or better than a seal -
Might be of interest to you Claire, they seem to have laminators in the Trading Post section from time to time. Never dealt with them.

seal market them selfs as top of the range I would speak to them before you do any thing else.

Use a Drytac Hotpress roller laminator day in, day out. We use the JM44 and it works well.
Would like a single wheel adjustment, would be nice, and heated rollers, even more so. I believe that the latest version of the 44" (or next size up) allows for both of my wishes. Being on a first floor with no freight lift, machines over 150KG are a Real problem, so will stick with where we are.
Hotpress / Drytac customer service is great, when needed – we’ve had them pull out all kinds of stops to get work out / machines running. Being UK based helps us. -
Claire, I have an easymount, but would prefer a seal. Have had same problem as you but fixed myself, bearings needed adjustment. Was told by a guy who used to sell them that this is a common problem with easymount.
Also, I had to stabilise the stand with a few well placed wedges.
Cheaper but you get what you pay for!! -
sometimes the rollers need recondictioning, it might be that.
