    Hi all,

I’m new here and for the first time I would like to ask you about the equipment you are using for your sign making business.

I’m currently in the planning process for the sign making business I would like to start next year so it will be good if you are able to give me some advice about start up equipment.

I’m planning to open a small business -> sign making and design services and I think that it’s the best choice to keep the whole thing small during the first year. This means that I’m planning to start with the vinyl cutting services (vehicle and shops) and with the other small signs produced as combination of vinyl letters glued on different materials (glass, aluminium, foamex, correx, etc).

I’m asking you to give me the list of tools, machines and other equipment needed for that setup (in your personal opinion)? Please note that I do not have too much money to invest, so please be reasonable 😉

Thanks in advance and I apologise for my bad English (English is my second language).

BTW this forum is a great place with a lot of useful information and I’m glad that I found you guys…. Cheers

    Welcome Dejan.

    What area are you in?

You can start pretty cheap, but stay with known cutter brands (Roland, Graphtec, Mimaki)

You also need to be familiar with the right materals to use.

Give me an idea of your location, and I may be able to point you in the right direction in Oz.

    Hi Shane,

thank you for your quick reply. I’m in the South Brisbane (I came here 2 years ago from Sydney) and I’m currently working as freelancer web designer. I’m going overseas within next 6 months and I’m planning to start my business overseas (Eastern Europe).

I’m currently in the planning process and I just want to pick up opinions and experience from people who are currently running similar business.

    Any advice will be good.

    cheers

I’m not far from you then.

If you want to call in to my factory one afternoon, I’m happy to go thru what you need to start a basic setup.
