type faces for small signs are usually single line, block, serif, script. When the text gets large enough you can recreate any font with double outline.

If you could upload a rough image of your intended layout we could price the glass for you.

As a general guide I would say around £50.00 a section (around 8’-0” long) plus transformer £50.00 and sundries (tube supports etc). Also someone to do all the drawing.
But they’re maybe someone on the board who could quote the whole job
I just do the drawings and send it away to be made.

simon’s not far off with a section price, for rough guesstimates, but make sure you get a quote first before quoting your customer.
There are many variables in section prices, length, tube diameter, single line, outline, glass coated/uncoated/coloured, font.

Others things to consider on the installation side, chances are you will need a fire switch.

like i said before, if you need any help, would be glad to help, we don’t charge to draw patterns for small signs like this.

I hope it’s not another tanning salon or nail bar 😆
Can’t swing a cat in Bristol at the moment for nail bars and tan places with really bad signs (fascias) but one expensive neon in the window!!!

That’s very true…

I only use that as a general guide, when a client asks for a neon projector sign and you tell him it’s going to cost around £500.00 most run a mile.
If they then still want it, I would then get a full price together.
I have had it in the past, when someone wants their 5 metre long fascia, covered with neon; you get a price together and the say “£3700 I only thought it would be £300.00”, you end up wasting time,

So £50.00 a section £50.00 a tranny £370.00 fitting and £340 sundries, then your time and profit on top, this give me a good idea of what the price would be, I then tell the customer the price for something like this; would be in the reign of X amount.
If they say that’s sounds OK, I then put a price together but most say thats far too expensive.

Do you do all your neon drawings by hand or use a neon program?

It is true alot of customers do have big ideas of vegas style neons, then resort back to vinyl and foamex when they know the price, but we have found the trend changing lately, and more people are prepared to pay that bit extra for the impact it gives their business. And the more people that have it in an area the more it spurs people on to go that way, because love it or hate it, it stands out.

99% of all our patterns drawn on neon wizard now, saves so much time and space. can spend more time bending instead of drawing. Its also handy because it tells us how much glass we going to need.
