Neon peacock sign voted best sign in the world + Video

The neon sign for the Peacock Diner has won first place in the International Signs Of The Times competition. The diner in the Delmar Loop is known for its neon decor and good milkshakes and food.
The 11-ft wide, 1800 lb sign has over 680 feet of neon tubing. The peacock on the sign fans out its colorful neon feathers in sequence over 200 times per hour.

The sign was designed by Hope Edwards, daughter of unofficial Loop mayor, Joe Edwards, and built by Piros Signs. Piro Signs said: "After an intense neck and neck battle, the Peacock diner sign took the top spot in the Readers Choice Award. We are very proud of our team here for coming together and working so hard on such a intricate sign. We would like to thank the Peacock Diner family for giving us the opportunity to build such a beautiful sign. Also a big thanks for all of those who voted."
