Hi folks just a few questions regarding wrapping. . Im thinking of having a go at wrapping my car and wondered if you could recommend a vinyl to do it Because i mostly use oracle i thought orajet might be a good choice ?yes no maybe ?. The theory is if i make a backside of it(more than likely ) no one else will see it it will be ripped off the same day 😀 I was adding lettering to a mini bus so called wrapped at the weekend I say "so called "as to me it was shocking it was like a patchwork quilt with bits cut where i would have thought it should have been stretched. Going by the american vids on you tube would i be right to say it seems more popular over ther than here ?. Time after time i see vehicle wrapping advertised by sign companys but all theve done is put large format prints on the sides of vehicles …i can do that and have done that !! but untill your going into complicated curves as spoilers bumpers etc it isnt wrapping is it or am i wrong 😀

signed jealous (wish i was a wrapper) 😀

I’d agree that applying a large graphic isn’t wrapping, unless it has to be conformed to some difficult areas, but even then it isn’t a ‘wrap’. I have used orajet 3951 (i think) in the past but they may do a better product now.

thanks john yeh i was looking at it on you tube and it looked the business but then again these guys did make it look easy . Its just a bit of research and development for myself really the motors got a few scratches on it and i thought i could get away far cheaper by wrapping it than expensive respray and get that experience in with the bargain .That mini bus i was talking about had been done in metamarc digital im sure its a fine product just badly done job

I must admit that I have done the Roland course but I am not a vehicle wrapper! I’ve done a couple of colour changes but when it comes to print (which I cannot afford to rip off and start again if it all goes t!ts up) I get the pro’s in and watch & learn! What sort of car is it and are you thinking of doing a full printed jobby or a colour change?

Hi john its a bmw 3 series. I was thinking of having a few graphics printed on it . Ive got a friend in Dundee that i would get the prints from but most of the vehicle would be black I was on flicr asking to purchase a print of a f-15 for the bonnet (always had this passion for military aviation 😀 ) would you beleive it tho the guy doesnt want to sell it as hes been approach by Boeing for the print which surprised me because th f15 is made by McDonald douglas ..unless Boeing own them now ….sorry Douglas digressing to the point youve probally poard petrol over yourself and looking for the matches
