    Hi gang.

Does any one know of a good but reasonable trought light supplier.

As usual I have a customer squeezing me for everything they can get out of me. Think they are after my blood next

Tell ’em that if they want cheap – there’s always B&Q for £10 floodlights…

I recommend going direct to Portland.
I did a lengthy search about a year ago and several other suppliers just buy the bits from Portland and make them up themselves. This caused problems when they didn’t seal them as well as they should. I made a mistake when pricing and actually Portland direct would have been the cheapest option and probably made up better.

There are a couple of different waterproofing standards for a choice of price.
the IP codes are explained here

Don’t know about the Ashby ones as the spec sheet doesn’t give an IP rating for the unit and flourescent tubes, it only gives a rating if you use LED which are rated seperately as IP67

I’m pretty sure my research showed the vision depot light to be a Portland with a mark up!
