need a trough light supplier
Posted by Mark A Brown on 25 March 2013 at 16:27Hi gang.
Does any one know of a good but reasonable trought light supplier.
As usual I have a customer squeezing me for everything they can get out of me. Think they are after my blood next

Tell ’em that if they want cheap – there’s always B&Q for £10 floodlights…

I recommend going direct to Portland.
I did a lengthy search about a year ago and several other suppliers just buy the bits from Portland and make them up themselves. This caused problems when they didn’t seal them as well as they should. I made a mistake when pricing and actually Portland direct would have been the cheapest option and probably made up better.

the IP codes are explained here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_CodeDon’t know about the Ashby ones as the spec sheet doesn’t give an IP rating for the unit and flourescent tubes, it only gives a rating if you use LED which are rated seperately as IP67

I can recommend Vision Depot

Very easy to deal with and can do a quick turnaround

I’m pretty sure my research showed the vision depot light to be a Portland with a mark up!
