Hi All after my problem with the yellow and magenta print head dropping out and with the kind help of the forum members i installed new f2 and f3 fuses as they were both blown on the main board , OK so far !! but only today i got the board back to install and yes both my print heads are now working again after a head clean but i can only preform a test print as the PC is no longer communicating with the printer Ive tried different usb cables but the PC is just not seeing the printer, does anyone know if there is something that i can do to fix this ?, it was all working prior to me taking out the main board i must add,

    Kind Regards
    Kev

Hi Kev, my best suggestion would be to put the printer on your LAN via a network cable, it wont use up valuable PC memory then when printing and you will do away with 99.9% of usb drop out problems.

My regular label and desk top printers regularly drop out and reconfigure to another port randomly.

If you still want to use the USB, I think you might have a driver problem, I had a similar problem with a Ricoh printer recently, even though it had previously worked, it wasn’t untill I downloaded and installed the drivers again that it recognised the printer.

To be sure, find the drivers in your device manager, remove or uninstall them, and then reboot and reinstal… that may work

    Good luck

    Hi Mo
Thanks for your reply not sure how I would go about doing that is there some sort of network card I can fit to the printer ? , the only conector on the printer is a USB, my sp540v is connected to my pc via my LAN but that has the network card built into it , I’m not sure if I have blown something else on the main board as I’ve tried plugging in the printer to my other pc and it’s not seeing the printer on that pc either !! Any further advise would be greatly appreciated
    Regards

Just a quick boost of my post I’m still looking for any help that can be passed on as my big problem is that I live on the isle of man and there are no tech guys to go to so it’s all a bit dot for me 🙁

    Regards
    Kev
