I went to the Volks World show yesterday and was talking to a signwriter called Neil Melliard, I had met him before at the 2002 UK Letterheads meet, Neil is a very talented fella, as well as being an excellent signmaker he is also big into the VW scene, and having myself just bought a 1971 camper we had a lot to talk about, I thought I’d post a photo of his van, all the paintwork he did himself and the signwriting, although this picture is a bit crappy it does show his logo that is painted and gilded and he assured me the van goes as well as it looks, you can keep yer Vito’s and Vivaro’s I’ll have one of these please! 😎

that is loooovely Steve, I am not a VW fanatic but I love the old vehicles. Have a few Minis waiting for restoration in my yard, restored an old Minor Pickup once and loved it.

The VW looks immaculate and would make me smile all day if I saw it on the road. Isn’t Mr Reeves (Radio)into these old VW’s as well?

    Cheers

I’m a great van of the VW’s as well Steve 😀 Back in 1985 I built a kit car called a Nova based on the beetle floorpan and running gear. Here’s a picture of the finished car:-

It was originaly a black gelcoat finish. However, not long after completing the car it was involved in a side on collision which meant I had to rebuild it. I decided to respray the body red (which is how it is shown in the photo). Oh how I loved that car…. but it was too impractical to live with so I ended up selling it and have regreted it ever since 😕 …Q388WFS – where are you now??

we were on the M25 last night around 6.00pm. There were loads of camper vans and bugs. Must have been the same show.

we were talking to some guys in the hotel who were going to the show, they came from Holand.

we`re going to the mini show at Sandon next week. Should be a good show.
