My first Dibond tray- Help needed on how to install and make it stronger

I just use angle aluminium strips top bottom and sides to fit the tray onto. This not only holds the tray up but keeps the folded returns in place at a 90 degree angle

same as phil maybe some araldite or similar inthe corners

What router did you use out of curiousity. Looks like it done the job.

We cut a piece of aluminium angle and bond into the 4 corners to hold the joints together, then install an aluminium angle onto the wall at the top and the bottom of the sign fit the sign tray over the angle and screw through the tray into the angle with self drilling screws

Just an update on this.
The glue i used failed so i ended up using rivets.
Super solid now. Not as nice with the rivets being there but wanted a solid Job.
What glue you use to glue the corner aluminium pieces to the dibond?

Pane I wouldnt use glue for any part of this tray without backing it up with a rivet.

I think you can rivets with coloured heads. Might look neater

don’t know what glue you used but if you use Penloc (instant bond) or Simson ISR 70-05 (which takes time to cure) ensure you clean with correct cleaner, scuff etc. When you install, edges are held in place. Both of them glues are used throughout the sign industry on their own with no mechanical fixings and i myself have bonded channels on 3mtr x 1.5mtr signs using Simson ISR 70-05 with correct primer with no problems at all.

One last point, glue has a larger fixing area when applied correctly than a couple of 3mm rivets especially in composite

I did glue the aluminium corners one day, and installed the next day. This might be where I did wrong. (after the corners came apart – I used rivets and things where different)

Will test the suggested glues.
