Hi, I’ve started getting a lot of vertical banding across all CMYK colours on my VJ-1304. I’ve tried changing the head and maintenance station but still get the same results. I’ve messed around with the heater settings and wave patterns, it improves marginally or gets worse, but never seems to get rid of it completely. I’m using Metamark media and the correct profile in Wasatch. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can solve this please? I’ve attached some photos of the blocks of CMYK I printed as a test. Many thanks, Oliver.

I have tried cleaning the encoder strip, but no luck. There are some ink spots on it by the capping station. But I"m pretty sure that these have been there for ages. There are no marks on the main length of the encoder strip.

Nozzle test print is perfect, all aligned correctly and nothing missing.

I used to have a Mutoh before I upgraded. If it’s vertical banding it’s either:

    1. The pinch rollers need cleaning with isopropyl

    2. The media is at fault

Thanks Neil, I’ll have a look a the pinch rollers and give them a clean. The media should be fine as the same roll prints perfectly in my other machine (same make/model).
