    Hi Guys

Im looking at getting rid of my VP-300 and replacing it for a Rockhopper ii.

Just wondered if you guys could give me any advice and thoughts regarding this.

Willl the rockhopper comfortably print canvass, banners, garment transfer material?

Which rip is suatible and are there any free downloads availble? as the friend im buying it from doesnt have a copy of his rip software.

Let me know thanks guys 🙂

Motuh have come a long way since the Rockhopper days. some much better machines now available in their range that i would give much more consideration too.

personally, based on the old "rockhopper" over "Versacamm"… i would still stick with the versacamm.

sorry for the short reply, program starting on TV i want to see! 😳 :lol1:

I don’t own a printer myself so difficult to comment but I do read most of the posts made and there have been quite a lot of posts from people with rockhopper problems. Try doing a search on the forum to see if you can find any of them, might give you a better idea.
Think you will be extremely lucky to find any sort of free rip software, like I say I don’t know a lot about it but all the ones I have seen are quite expensive.

I got my hands on a Rockhopper 2 and set about trying to get it going….I gave up, it sits looking forlornly at me in the workshop!
Seriously problematic machines. There is an American forum, (Signs101) which has a lot of users of Rockhoppers and reading through it is scary!
Great when running smoothly but that takes a lot of know how and tinkering.

as harry said they are a great machine when running, but they do come with a lot of maintenance. I have had a rockhopper 1 rockhopper2 and an agfa grand sherpa universial AM (rebadged rockhopper 3) and have just moved got myself a soljet and I can’t belive how much better a machine they are.

Mutoh ValueJet would be the Mutoh option these days, and they like VersaCamms will print onto all the usual print medias.

I picked it up off a guy but it wasn’t working. Had been laying up a while. Best price I could get for pump, printheads and dampers etc was nearly 1000…bit steep as it was a leap in the dark as to whether it would then work.
Who services and supplies your parts?

No, not Dungannon. I’m sure you know him…I’ll PM the name.

Will give Spectrum a ring maybe. I need to fix it or get rid. 😀
