Just a little fun. What music, If any, do you listen to when working?

If I’m really concentrating I don’t listen to anything, but if I’m in my usual state of dreaminess I’ll usually listen to something a little rocky/upbeat to wake me up.

    Ive lately been listening to:

    The Killers -Hot Fuss,
    Mew – Frengers
    Lost Prophets – Start Something
    Delerium – Poem/Karma
    Splashdown – Blueshift
    Utada – Exodus 04/Deep River
Kristian Leontiou – Some Day Soon
    Kasabian – Kasabian
Kanye West – The College Dropout
    Metallica

and lots more, and of course “The vinyl countdown” :p

Man, I must be getting old. Who are all those names you listed?

Personally, I prefer the radio so I can have a good swear at the DJs.

I’m not quite as old because I recognise two of their names but wouldnt know them if they came to my door !…there again I guess the chances of metallica calling on me are fairly small 😕
I listen to a mixture of radio2 and local radio stations personally but the ad’s do get on my nerves a bit. I’ve got too old for radio 1 now but the guys who work for me never fail to complain about that 😀
I find I’m normally concentrating or on the phone too much to listen to much of anything really !

I’ve recently bought a little MP3 player which I carry around with me all the time, great for …well anywhere, It’s got an fm radio and sometimes I listen to radio 1/Local Stations for news etc, the Ad’s irritate me too and after a while you hear the same tracks over and over, at least when listening to my music it’s music I like over and over :D.

I actually know someone who still listens to 8-track tapes!

I have odd taste in music.
    While I despise modern country,
I love bluegrass, like the O Brother CD.
I also love old Johnny Cash, was raised on it.

I was kind of punkish/New Wave back in the day.
I love the Ramones, The Cure, old tu-tone stuff,
The Stray Cats, Siouxsie and the Banshees,
The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Smashing Pumpkins,
and my fave Pittsburgh Band, The Clarks.

I also love stuff from when I was little,
like old British 60s music and early Dylan/folksinger tunes.
I’m always listening to something when I work….
    even the occasional Classics CD!
    Love….Jill

My favourites are The Nolan Sisters and Bucks Fizz 😕

Recently I drove around with “Stings” latest album constantly playing in my van…… to finally discover it wasn’t actually “Sting” after all, but some young upstarts called Maroon Five doing a very good impersonation. 😳

Bizarrely I listen to the Snatch soundtrack most of the day these days, quite upbeat tracks, so it helps carry things along.

Other times I listen mainly to 80’s stuff, Kraftwerk, Talking Heads, Yello… but Friday’s is James Brown Day 😀 If I end up working the weekend, I listen to various movie soundtracks like the themes from Gladiator, Austin Powers, Night at the Roxbury and A Knight’s Tale. Just makes the day go that little bit quicker 😀

Great thread btw, you learn alot about ppl by what music they listen to, but to the artisit formerly known as ‘hyphen’, I’ve only ever heard of Metallica… the rest, I’m thinking you made them all up to make us all feel really really old :lol1:

    Cheers, Dewi
