Multiple pages in Corel 12?
Posted by Jill Marie Welsh on 13 January 2010 at 15:03Is it possible to set up more than one page at the same time in Corel 12?
(meaning I could see more than one page on my screen)
I am working on a menu layout and am sign of doing a page at a time.
Haven’t a clue if this is possible or how to set it up if it is.
Thanks!

Jill,
I’m not sure if this is exactly what you mean but you can insert multiple pages into the same drawing….I’ don’t know if you can see them all at the same time though if thats what you need
Layout….Insert Page

Yup I actually figured that part out on my own somehow!
What I wish I could see was 5 pages in the same view.
But this will have to be good enough for now!
😉
Laying out a menu is every bit as monotonous as making a menu sign. -
Definitely yes and this is just one thing that sets Draw above Illustrator. You will probably work one one page at a time so set your page size to A5/A4 or whatever and layout first page.
To the bottom left of your Draw screen you will see 2 + signs, the left will put a new page before the current one and the right after the current one.
To view facing pages, goto layout – Page setup – layout option under page from list on left side of dialoge box – select facing pages.
If you zoom in to a page but wish to navigate round – look to what appears to be a white square under the down scroll arrow and to the right of the right scroll arrow – your cursor will turn to cross, left click and you will be able to scroll round the page.
If you have multipages and wish to view them goto print preview and you will be able to multiply them up via the imposition tool, you can also set gutters and which page goes where. Pages can be turned upside down there for head to head output plus separation to check what is on what plate.

Alan I know you a big supporter of Corel and I think both software packages have pro’s and con’s against each other but it’s down to the user really, but that’s another debate which we’ve all had a few times :lol1:
My reason for posting is to let you know that Illustrator CS4 now has multiple pages (called workspaces) it’s the same as pages, I’ve not used it yet but it is a new feature with CS4.
Watch out, Illy’s catching you 😮 :lol1:
cheers

Thanks Alan.
I am going to try and figure out what you just said.
I think it sounds feasible!

Warren, I know I sound a bit biased but I do appreciate that Illustrator is a very strong package especially on a MAC by all accounts. Both packages seem to leap frog each other from version to version but Corel always seems to be that bit more intuitive to use but it depends on what you have been brought up with.
If Illy now has multiple pages I wonder if it has imposition and viewable separations before it goes to the printer like Corel has always had, perhaps others can inform.
