    Hi

We are moving premises over the next few weeks and I need to move my Roland RE640 about 20 miles. I have checked manual and any prep required but not really wanting to take any risks with my machine.

Does anyone know of a company that can move our printer for us in Leeds, West Yorkshire or surrounding area?

I have had a quote from Signmaster which I am happy with but they do not cover the printer in transit (a bit odd) and they only supply 1 person which is more giving us a hand than moving it for us.

I would prefer somebody who knows what they are doing, has experience and can move on their own with all liability covered by them.

    Thanks

    Chris

We moved our RS640 about 10-20mins away.

Hired a luton box van, locked the heads in place (as explained in the manual) and put two wheels on the lift, supported the other end, and then raised the lift once level with the inside truck gave it a shove, to get the other wheels on the lift. They’re too wide to get the thing in across the lift.

It worked for us with 3 people, and saved dismantling the printer & stand. Arrived at the other end and did the same in reverse, wheeled it out, plugged it in, and away it went.

Keep it level, and lock the print heads in place, secure it firmly in place inside the truck and you’ll probably be ok.

Thanks for your reply, I have thought about doing just that but the place where the printer is going is quite tight and may need to be lifted to fit, which would mean a full flush down.

I have the option of using a bigger space at the new location where access would not be restricted and I could transport the printer to it using the method you have described and then look at how hard it would be to move into the more restricted building.
