  • Moving printer to a new unit, advice needed

    Hi,
I’m due to move my sp300v to a new unit next week, what do I need to do before I move it to ensure it will be ok on the journey?

It’s only a 3 mile journey, when I got the printer it was a 250 mile journey and when it got to us the heads were both shot, I guess from poor travel prep as it was printing fine before being moved.

It has to come down 2 flights of stairs from the old unit; in to a van then wheel in to the new unit.

Any advice on how to accomplish this without having to change 2 heads afterwards appreciated.

    Many thanks

We moved our sp by removing the cartridges and securing the heads with the clamp that came supplied with the machine. You’ll probably find that screwed to the back of the machine. We didn’t go very far but drove very very slowly lol

We just moved our VS. Taped the head so it could move (not the actual head) took the stand off. 4 boys and kept it very flat. Very slow drive. Straight in and straight on. All was ok.

    Thanks.
I don’t believe I was given the clamp with the machine so I will try your method of taping it still and hope for the best. There are 4 of us that will be moving it and removing the stand as you say.

We only removed the stand for weight and to make it less awkward. To be honest not sure if the tape would of done much if it was moved quickly or dropped but she survived.

Pretty sure the clamps to keep the head from moving from the capping station and drying up.

We moved our Mimaki last year. Left it on stand, removed carts and waste tank, secure head with small ratchet strap. Made a ramp from ply, rolled onto the van, chocked wheels, secures with ratchets and couple of rolls of bubble wrap, rolled off other end – all done [emoji106]
