    Hi Guys,

We are moving to our new home which about 12 miles from our old place and we need to move our Roland XC540. The official line from Roland is that all the inks need to be drained from the system using flushing cartridges which cost a whopping £70.00 quid each best part of over £800 to do all 12….

Has anyone in the past move the Roland with out flushing the system.

I’ve been told by another source to make sure the capping stations are clean and the head is clamped in place….

Just wanted to check if anyone else has ever moved a machine like this

We moved ours about 3 or 4 miles just before christmas and just clamped the head in place with the bracket. Did a couple of deep cleans when moved and it worked fine after that. Apart from the problem listed in another thread but almost certainly that was a pc problem.

    Cheers

Hi. I had my reconditioned Grenadier delivered full of ink. Think the only thing that was done to it was that the print heads were taped in place to stop them from moving around. Can’t see why ink would have to be drained out just to move it, only if it was going to be idle for a long time.

I expect some good user on here will give you good advise.

We moved all of our printres including HP9000 and a Roland, when we moved units and they had to come down a very steep flight of stairs with no problem at all. Just make sure the heads are fixed down and the waste ink is removed.

hi, we moved our roland sp300 about 12 months ago, it was lifted into a van, travelled a few miles, carried by hand up a flight of stairs..all we did was clamp the head and it works fine..

    cheers
