Mounting Printed Vinyl & Plotting…
I am very new to this game, and ended up with my own business by complete chance, but things aren’t going to bad.
I have the chance to do a rather large job, which should make me a nice bit of profit provided things go to plan.
I am looking to produce 300 PVC boards to go on a shop display stand, with cut outs for the racks to pass through.
I have a Versart 640, and can print to the vinyl, and have it on the pick up.
My concern comes to mounting the vinyl. I have a cold press laminator (polar signs), which I am considering running my printed vinyl through to mount it onto the 440 micron PVC roll.
Provided I succeed in doing this, I then intend to run the PVC and vinyl through my graphtec 1300 plotter to cut the holes.
I am using the standard blue topped 0.9mm pen, but from what I understand will need to upgrade to a 1.5mm blade and holder suitable for cutting through the PVC?
Firstly is this possible, and will it really be as simple as I hope… once the laminator is set correctly.
I intend to print to Metamark MD5 vinyl as it doesn’t seem as elastic as the MD3, and I have had limited success with MD5 over MD3.
