Just had a request to cover the front of a hotel (windows) with clear film to reduce UV fading the furniture/carpets.

Any contacts for the film and is it worth doing a course?

I have done some small windows before but nothing this big. Been in touch with Stockfilms (seems very expensive) and Johnson Window Film.

    Cheers

    Hi mate,

i use Johnson’s window films as i went on a school day out to Southampton to learn how to use the stuff ( on the lash as well :lol1: :lol1: ) The 1 day course cost around £400 only to learn how to heat shrink it to vehicles.

To apply to flat glass it is the same as fitting vinyl to glass

if you need the number let me know

    best wishes

    Hello Dave,

I did a course with cpfilms in runcourn, Cheshire. It was the automotive application course that took 5 days. Like Roffs it was also a trip away and p*ss up. It was expensive but certainly paid of quickly and the technical support is still there two years on (not that i need it now of course!). I also did the flat glass application course. Which i found was not necessary in terms of skill involved. Larger windows can be filmed fairly easily with the reverse roll technique used by window tinter’s on some rear heated car windows. A good explanation can be found on this at http://www.tintdude.com. A forum like this one but for window tinter’s.

    Cheers
