no matter what type of Mirror finished gold you buy, even the exterior grade stuff. its not for wrapping. 9/10 of them are polyester foils, not vinyl as we know it.

3M have developed a "cast" chrome vinyl that you will have seen being used on vehicles, but its not warrantied for this type of applcation.

it is also mounted/laminated onto vehicle wrap vinyl to aid its application.

all this said, "i know" you want it for flat panel work.
i would advise buying either the 3M wrap from smiths or spandex or buying the best exterior grade film you can, but apply onto a base of vinyl. by that i mean, lets say you have a chrome letter T. have a small vinyl outline layer of vinyl down first, then apply the foil letter ontop. it greatly increases the adhesion the chrome foil has on the vehicle and stops dog-earing. dont ask me why, but it does. 😀

i could be wrong, but i think grafityp might do the longer life chrome, either that or im mixing it up with longer life flourescent films which they do offer too.

Hexis and Avery are working on wrap chromes. Not sure when they will be on the market.

Cherwell sell Aslan chrome material. Technically, it’s not warranted for exterior use, but I have it on my own & customers vehicles & it still looks perfect after 3 years.
