  • Mimaki print how to get the best quality

Posted by Jason Middleton on 10 September 2012 at 21:35

I seem to have a problem printing some colours on my Mimaki cjv30, some colours print lovely (vibrant and nice and solid) yet others appear slightly grainy/mottled.

What settings do I need to get the absolute best print quality, is this set on the user type on the printer, or is it down to the profile used or the rip settings.

Would appreciate any help on this.

    many thanks

    Jason

which colors appears grainy on your printer?

Do you have a dual CMYK ink setup or a CMYKLcLm?

On my CJV30, I struggle with grays that I found too grainy.

In my opinion, this has to do with the CMYK printing limitations. Profiles can help but not too much I think.

Thanks, seem to be a problem with quite a lot of colours especially the lighter colours, my set up is dual CMYK.

the light cyan and light magenta helps reach colours which are light and is being turned into dots… especially skin tones.

Thanks, I’m still not sure I have it on its very best quality settings any advice on what setting I need to select to do this.

Speed and ink usage isn’t a concern just need the quality to be the best possible.

    thanks
