Mimaki JV33 profiles
Posted by Stuart Hancock on 23 December 2008 at 10:00We have just recently had installed a new Mimaki JV33 and I was just wondering how do the rest of you go about getting material profiles for Shiraz? Our usual supplier Spandex only seem to have profiles for Onyx, is this the case across the board. At present we are using trial and error with the various profiles already set in the machine!
It will be good to know how people get around the problem

Probably the first thing to do is to approach AIT.
After that, the manufacturers of the materials you are using. If you tell them that you can’t buy their material because you can’t get profiles for it it tends to perk them up a bit. 😀

Thanks for that, I suppose a loss of a customer is always a good incentive to get things sorted.

Spandex supplying JV33 are they? news to me?
Shiraz profiles can be downloaded from the website once you register, don’t think its too much of a problem registering.

http://www.applied-image.com/downloads.aspx?c=trueactually (i think) there is a FTP transfer bit within the program, should be a problem to setup

We use Spandex for our digital print vinyls at the moment as they are giving us the best price, it’s just that they don’t have any material profiles as they don’t sell the JV33 and that is our problem.
Thanks for the links 😛

They’re aren’t loads of profiles with Shiraz for the JV33 yet (as we’ve discovered)

Well there are over 100, but a lot of the ones we have are for stuff we’re not likely to use much.

i just logged in, there is 83 profiles for the JV33… more then enough for starters..if your still struggling i might send u a profile to your website email address if you say which material

Hi Stuart
if you have a contract with shiraz you can download all the spandex profiles of the AIT website, if for some reason they are not there you can send i think its 5 metres of spandex material? to a guy callled per in AIT (Shiraz) London office and they will profile it for you.
I now longer have a shiraz maintenance contract, but if they have profiled spandex materials, which suspect they have i will have the profile on file if you need it. (if site rules allow me to offer it to you)
spandex should also be able to give you profiles on cd which you can import straight into shiraz via profile loader in the tools tab.
Shiraz is a superb, faultless rip colour and profiling wise , but they are going to loose out big time as it is print only and doesnt have a cut plug in.
cheers
