    Hello

    Anyone uses the JV3 ( 6 colour )
for photography and fine art printing? What is the quality like?

we have decided to buy the mimaki printer and cutter package that is on offer here in australia but during the demo, we saw it printing things like stickers etc. curious to know if how it would print skin tones and fine photograpy details.

    cheers

    Hi Heng

You may not get the fine results you are looking for as it is a solvent printer and solvent ‘drop’ size means you can not achieve the really bright ends of the colour gamut ( only achievable with a water based inkjet – finer droplets) – we use a versacamm in our shop with reasonable success, but for true photographic or art reproduction, we refer the work on to print shops with the like of Novajets etc – we have one artist customer who has his work reprinted this way and he then puts six or seven coats of lacuer on and you are hard pressed to tell which is the original and which is the copy/s
